Principal Suzanne Day

Principal's Corner
Meet Mrs. Day

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Suzanne Day and I am so excited to be the principal of South Hiram Elementary!
I grew up in West Baldwin and graduated from Sacopee Valley High School.  I then went to Saint Joseph's College where I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.  Later, I earned my master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern Maine.
Currently, I live with my husband Steve and our two cats named Audi and Beamer.  I am very close to my family which includes my brother Kyle, who is a freshman at Southern Maine Community College, and my sister Alesha and her husband Corey who have two children named Madison and Miller.  I love spending time with my family!
I first started my teaching career at South Hiram Elementary as a long-term substitute and then worked as a speech and language teacher.  When a second/third grade multi-age teaching position opened at Fred Morrill School, I applied to teach in the classroom there.   I spent my next eight years teaching all different grade levels from second grade through fifth grade.  I spent my last four years at Fred Morrill School as the teaching principal.
In addition to loving my job, I love reading, traveling, shopping, spending time with my family and friends, learning about websites and computers, working and designing in my flower garden, and watching football.  Over the last few years my husband has taught me to be a Patriots and Red Sox fan!
I am really excited and enthusiastic about being a member of the South Hiram School community!  Please do not hesitate to contact me, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions!
